December 1st marks World AIDS Day. According to the UNAIDS, the estimated number of persons living with HIV worldwide in 2007 was 33.2 million [30.6-36.1 million]. A reduction of 16% compared with the estimate published in 2006 (39.5 million [34.7-47.1 million]). (UNAIDS/WHO, 2006).

Sub-Saharan Africa continues to be the region most affected by the AIDS pandemic. More than two out of three (68%) adults and nearly 90% of children infected with HIV live in this region. More than three in four (76%) AIDS deaths in 2007 occurred there; illustrating the unmet need for antiretroviral treatment in Africa.( Aids epidemic update report,UNAIDS 2007).

The Do You Fro? Initiative is launching an ongoing online campaign to support the eradication of the global Aids pandemic called
" I’Fro! United Against Aids".

Do you’ fro? is also supporting WarChild AIDS Initiative. Part of the proceeds collected by the sale of the merchandise will go directly to support their international program in Ethiopia – HIV/AIDS ORPHANS DEVELOPMENT PROJECT.
